GRIMME GROUP

The GRIMME Group, located at Damme (Germany) was founded in 1861 as a forge by the great-grandfather of the current owner Franz Grimme. In 1936 Franz Grimme's father developed the first serial products for an efficient potato harvest and founded the agricultural machinery factory of the same name. In 1966 GRIMME became market leader with the trailed, single-row potato harvester of the series called "Europa Standard". Franz Grimme joined the company in 1970 and became managing director in 1980.

Today, GRIMME is manufacturing advanced potato-, beet- and vegetable technology at the headquarters in Damme (Germany) and in the neighbouring industrial area of Rieste as well as in China. Using a close cooperation with the agricultural machinery manufacturer Shaktiman, GRIMME develops, produces and sells modern potato technology in India under the brand of "Shaktiman- Root Crop Solutions". In Great Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, Russia, Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, Denmark and Germany (Uelzen), sales and service subsidiaries support the local GRIMME partners.

In 2003, the US potato specialist SPUDNIK, founded in 1956 and based in Blackfoot/Idaho, was acquired and has become the market leader in North America. With three additional branches in the USA, SPUDNIK supports its sales partners and users locally. In 2020 SPUDNIK took over the manufacturer of special trailers "STC Trailers", also based in Blackfoot/Idaho.

Since 2013, the 1936 founded company ASA-LIFT from Sorö in Denmark belongs to the GRIMME Group. ASA-LIFT develops and produces vegetable technology on customer request and is one of the world's leading suppliers in this segment.

In 1987 Franz Grimme founded INTERNORM, a specialised company for plastic components, in Damme (Germany) and in 1995 he founded RICON. The latter is manufacturer for heavy duty sieving and conveying technology, with its current headquarters in Rieste (Germany).

Christoph Grimme founded the startup Schmiede.ONE at Dusseldorf (Germany) in 2017, which specializes in Internet and software topics.
